Bolt in talks with Ferguson... but about what?
Usain Bolt has never made any secret of his desire to play football for Manchester United, and his far-fetched dream seemingly moved a step closer as he spent Saturday at Old Trafford.
The Jamaican sprint superstar was introduced to the fans at United's ground before the 3-2 win against Fulham, and cheekily asked the Red Devils supporters to try and persuade Alex Ferguson to sign him.
He then got a chance to tap up the man himself: the pair enjoyed a cosy chat after the game with Bolt posting a picture of himself and Fergie on an Old Trafford couch - a meeting that appeared to involve glasses of red wine and a plate of traditional football pies. Bolt himself captioned the picture with a tantalisingly ambiguous message: "A wonder what we discussing? Hmmm mmm."
What indeed? Last year Bolt said that he "would love to play football for United after I retire", and after defending his Olympic titles at both 100m and 200m this summer he recently reiterated that he wants to try new things - though for the moment that is likely to mean forays into the long jum or 400m.
Bolt also got a chance to rub shoulders with United legend Bobby
Charlton, and also spoke to Wayne Rooney and Ryan Giggs in the tunnel where the two United players - no strangers themselves - looked particularly impressed at the three gold gongs hanging round Bolt's neck.
