One Injured In Jos Bomb Explosion

JOS, August 17, (THEWILL) - An improvised explosive device (IED) exploded near Rikkos Police Post in the north central city of Jos, Plateau State on Friday, injuring one person and torching the Police post as well as three houses in the vicinity. Captain Salisu Mustapha, spokesman for the Special Task Force of the Military in the state said the explosion, which occurred on Layin-Walin Street, Jos, also damaged a vehicle. He confirmed that the injured person, whose name was given as Alhaji Abubakar Adamu, was immediately taken to hospital. “… the area is calm and people are going about their normal activities,” Mustapha said, adding that investigations on the blast were ongoing.
