Fashola condemns attack on Jonathan’s convoy
LAGOS—Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State has condemned the attacks on President Goodluck Jonathan’s convoy in Bauchi State and other parts of the country, saying Mr. President has every right to campaign in any part of the country.
Fashola, who made the remarks yesterday, during the commemoration of his 2,800 days in office in Ikeja, Lagos, stressed that such acts should be condemned in its entirety if the country must move forward.
He also urged Jonathan to caution his supporters and associates from making inflammatory and derogatory statements capable of heating-up the polity and consequently spur attacks against him.
Harping more on the peace accord signed by President Jonathan and Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, he added that the peace accord was not more than mere gentleman agreement, saying what is important is the conduct thereafter.

The governor, speaking on the alleged plan to postpone the February general elections by Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, -led federal government, reiterated the President’s earlier position that May 29 remained sacrosanct, stressing that, “no excuse is acceptable for any postponement of the elections.”
