How to Use the Euro Calculator on sage line 50

Note: You can call up the euro calculator from any text box where you can enter a monetary value by pressing F5. If your country is participating in the first wave of entrants to the euro and you are dealing with non-participating countries, the Foreign Rate and Foreign Gross text boxes will not be updated in File Maintenance. 1. Ensure that you have set your base currency. 2. Ensure that you have entered your currency details correctly. 3. With your cursor in the monetary text box, press the F5 function key. The euro calculator appears. 4. If you have already entered a figure in the monetary text box, this appears automatically in the Convert text box. If you have not entered a figure in the monetary text box, you can enter it directly into the euro calculator. 5. Select the currency you are converting from using the drop down list. The base value appears automatically for you in the To text box. Note: Sage Line 50 automatically triangulates using the euro exchange rate if either of the currencies are euro members. You should not enter the euro rate for non-participating countries in the Currencies option, unless the non-participating country represents the base currency of the currency. 6. To copy the converted value back to the monetary value text box, choose the OK button. The figure has now been converted from the foreign value to your base currency. File Maintenance The Maintenance option has a number of useful data management and validation features. It lets you check the validity of your data files so that errors can be detected and rectified. You can compress data files to free disk space by removing records marked for deletion from the files. There is also a data correction option that allows you to correct incorrectly posted transactions. Note: Before you choose any of the Maintenance options you should make a back up copy of your data.
