Delta community restates support for Jonathan, Okowa, Nwaoboshi, others

ASABA—THE people of Akwukwu-Igbo in Oshimili North Local Government Area, Delta State, have restated their support for the Delta North senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Peter Nwaoboshi, whom they described as humane and a community developer. Speaking at a town hall meeting to sensitise the people ahead of the March 28 and April 11 general elections, HRH David Azuka, the Obi of Akwukwu-Igbo Kingdom, said the people of the kingdom were unanimous in their resolve to vote for Chief Nwaoboshi in the senatorial election and all other PDP candidates from the presidential to the state House of Assembly polls. Noting that Chief Nwaoboshi was instrumental to the appointment of a son of the kingdom, Dr Ben Iwezu, into the State Executive Council, the monarch said Nwaoboshi also played a key role in the election of an Ukala son as chairman of the council. He said: “This is the first time our son is being elected as chairman of council since its creation and this is the first time our son is being appointed as a commissioner.” According to him, Nwaoboshi has also attracted the construction of roads to the kingdom, adding that they have every reason to give him their votes. “We stand by the Anioma kings’ endorsement of Chief Peter Nwaoboshi,” he said. On the state governorship poll, the monarch, said: “We will support our son, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa. This is the first time an Anioma person is emerging as governorship flagbearer of the PDP; so we will vote him.”
