How To Make a Bank Transfer
1. From the Sage Line 50 toolbar, click Bank.
2. From the list of banks accounts displayed, select the bank account you want to move the money from.
3. From the Bank Accounts window toolbar, click Transfer.
The Bank Transfer window appears.
4. In the boxes provided, enter the following transfer details:
Account from, Account to, Ref, Dept, Date, Details, Amount
Note: Because this option simply transfers money between accounts, no VAT is involved.
5. To process the transfer, click Save. To re-enter the data, click Discard. Click Close to exit from the window.
If you need further guidance, use the Wizard to help you transfer your money from one account to the other.
The bank account you are moving money from, is decreased by the full amount (a credit posting).
The bank account you are moving money to, is increased by the full amount (a debit posting).
The Audit Trail is updated with two transactions. A Journal Credit (JC) taking the money out of one bank and a Journal Debit (JD) putting the money into the other.
How to make a Customer Receipt Postings on sage line 50
For Receipts:
The selected bank account is increased by the amount received (a debit posting).
The amount owed to you, shown in the Debtors Control account, is reduced by the amount received (a credit posting).
For Discounts You Have Given:
The amount owed to you, shown in the Debtors Control account, is reduced by the amount discounted (a credit posting).
The Sales Discount nominal account receives the value of the discount given (as a debit posting). This has the effect of reducing your overall sales figures.
The customer payments appear on the audit trail as the following transaction types:
SR = Receipts from a customer (sales receipts)
SD = Discount to a customer (sales discount)
SA = Receipts from a customer on account (sales payment on account)
